Join Lily Cushman and Kripa for an afternoon of call and response chanting in celebration of the life and teachings of Ram Dass. in Berkeley, California at 4th Street Yoga. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Taos Hanuman Temple in Taos, NM. We are joined by Andrew Werbrock on tablas and Pavan Dass on dholak.
Lily Cushman is a lifelong musician, and has been leading chanting for over a decade. She is the author “A Little Bit of Mantras: An Introduction to Sacred Sounds” from Sterling Publishers and a recent transplant to the Bay Area from her longtime home of NYC.
Kripa is a chanting group comprised of Scott Hari Whitmore, Sitaram Dass, Krishna Prem and Carl Golembeski. The group was born out of the love of Ram Dass, Neem Karoli Baba, Siddhi Ma, and Hanuman and inspired by their central teachings of “Love, Service, Remembrance, and Truth.” Three of the four members has served as caregivers for Ram Dass, and now they share the Dharma through activism, kirtan, workshops, teachings and writings.
This event is offered on a donation basis, with a $25 suggested donation, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Doors open at 2:30pm, chanting from 3-5pm with Prasad afterwards.
This event will be LIVESTREAMED on facebook for anyone who would like to participate virtually.
